Hollaaaa all my little glitter monkeys.. so yeah ...Pride happened then! Hands up who has tiny little men tap dancing inside their skulls and glitter still in places it really shouldnt be, like seriously, GLITTER EVERYWHERE!! .. Thank god for Monday club, Duvets & Papa John!
Unless you've been living under a rock this weekend you will know that Brighton Pride happened, not just any Brighton Pride but 25 year anniversary of Pride, and WOW what a banger that was this year. The whole city flew the flag, stood proud and was absolutely fabulous, well done Brighton..Salute..
I could talk about how wonderful the city vibe was, how awesome the parade was (after the whole bomb thing got dealt with) how epic the park party was, but i ain't here to talk about that, i'm here to big up my bad self and tell you all about how god damn epic the Chapter XIII Pride Party was.. Now, clearly i ain't one to blow my own trumpet, but god damn I can throw a party!
If you missed it, you certainly missed out. It was a full house, street dancing to the early hours, bad ass music, all the booze & everybody had a fantastic time.
We kicked off at 6pm with the one like Discordance and his unmistakable mash of disco, 80's electro remixes and what ever the hell else he feels like playing at the time kinda style, he got the party properly started, then we had the incredible JOE BLACK Drag act, who brought all the sass with a brilliant set of pure bitch and singing whilst expertly dealing with that annoying Russian woman who kept getting her tits out..Bravo Joe, if you've never seen him you really must catch one of his shows.
Up straight after the fabulous Joe Black was Mitch Wade Cole, who played a blinding set from start to finish and got everybody in the groove, then to close the party Richard Guy dashed straight in from his set with Carnival Collective in the park and absolutely smashed it, by the end of his set Pool Valley was shoulder to shoulder and seriously bouncing, Good work people !!
I just have to give a little shout to my ChapterXIII family, who, as always had everything on lock. Hannah, Danni & Charlotte for selling the bar dry, CeCe Sparkle for bringing the glitter, Fadge & Alec for helping set the stage up and Page for supervising the setting up of the stage! and of course Rikki Hope for suppling the PA system and fixing many many technical issues. Nothing would be possible without you guys ..
Till the next time ...Peace..
